Recyclerie

Give an item to a neighbour, not to the skip

Residents give what they no longer need to other residents of their municipality, free of charge, with no advertising and no tokens to buy.

The problem

What goes to the recycling centre could still be used

Furniture, toys, tableware, small appliances: part of bulky waste is still usable. Unlike advertising-funded giveaway platforms, this is the local authority's own service, limited to its municipalities, and what it avoids is counted for the authority.

Recyclerie: posting a giveaway, “What is it?” screen, one item or a batch, category tiles
Giving in three screens: here, the item or batch.

Step by step

The rules

  • Giving and reserving: aged 18 and over.
  • Pick-up at the giver's home or at a public meeting point chosen by the local authority; the giver's address is never shown.
  • The giver picks among the people interested and proposes a date; the chosen person confirms. If they cancel or do not show up, the item goes back online for the others.
  • In-app messages to agree on the details: no email address is ever shown.
  • Food: shop-bought only, in sealed packaging, before its use-by date.
  • A recalled product (RappelConso, the French recall register, checked by barcode) is refused.
  • Kitchen leftovers may not go to farm animals; live animals, medicines, chemicals and infant formula are excluded. Every refusal says where to take the item.
  • A listing lasts 21 days; if nobody takes the item, the listing shows the local authority's drop-off points (second-hand shop, reuse area at the recycling centre).
  • Only items actually handed over count towards kilos handed over or shredded.
Recyclerie: meeting with date, time and place, safety tips, “Yes, I'll be there” and protected messages
A clear meeting, and messages that protect.

Access offered, on your own area

Request access for your local authority

  1. Open the access page and enter your work email address: it is checked against the official directory of the French administration.
  2. Enter the code you receive by email: you go straight into your institution's own space, locked to its area.
  3. Open the waste service there: your municipalities and the tools in service are already set; your recycling centres, the drop-off points mapped on OpenStreetMap and your profile follow shortly, taken from public data. Nothing fictitious: it is your area.
  4. Each colleague signs in with their own address and joins the same space. Each address is valid for one month; access ends by itself.

Open my access

Reserved for French public bodies: municipalities, inter-municipal bodies, waste syndicates, departments, regions, public establishments, State services. The access pages and the tool's settings screens are in French. Address not recognised? Write to us.

Demo

Or see the demo first

See right away, without asking for anything, what residents see: the Recyclerie (giveaways), collection days, full bins, the map, shredding. The content is an example, labelled as such on every screen.

See what residents see

For the local authority side (dashboards, settings, article 58 return), sign in with your work email: a code is sent to you and you land directly in the waste service.
